Big Brother Canada Recap: Episode 15

Big Brother Canada Recap

Theory of a Topaz

Last episode ended with Topaz, shockingly, stay awake long enough to win Head of Household after the house decided that Suzette was going home. There was very little action and the episode suffered for it. the best part of the episode to me was trying to figure out what those kids were doing behind Arisa during the live moments. Hopefully Big Brother decides to give the house guests more alcohol.

The Chevrolet Power Shift
(Big Brother sometimes likes to affect the game.)

Instant Eviction

The second Chevy Power Shift of the season was a twist I haven't seen in all my years watching Big Brother. Not only did they have an eviction minutes after the HoH competition, Big Brother let the other house guests watch as Topaz deliberated (out loud!?!) about who she was going to target. After her decision she was let downstairs and let in on the news that the other house guests were watching the whole time.

Instant Nominees
(The two players currently nominated for eviction.)

AJ - Another week another pawn play but what's the old Big Brother U.S. saying? "Pawn's go home sometimes."

Andrew - Topaz's main target. Why? I don't know.

Instant In Memoriam
(Remembering the evicted house guest.)

AJ

You lived a long and surprising Big Brother life. You didn't win anything (ANYTHING!) and you were surprised to hear that no one in the house was threatened by you, not even Jillian. But because you were so weak none of the house guests wanted to get rid of you and had Topaz not put you up as a "pawn" then you would have definitely been off everybody's radar. There was a little time when I thought you might be playing everyone but then I realized no that was just AJ being AJ and that everyone was right not to be threatened by you. After all is said and done you made it extremely far in the game considering you didn't actually seem to play the game and from one AJ to another, stop talking about yourself in the third person.

Head of Household
(HoH competition)

Competition: Diary Room Convictions

The contestants had to choose which evicted house guest said what in the Diary Room. The person with the most correct answers at the end will be the new HoH  and be able to choose the Have Not's for the week. If there was a tie at the end of the quotes, there would be a tie breaker.

Winner: Andrew

Have Not's: Emmet, Peter, Topaz, Gary

Nominees
(The two players currently nominated for eviction.)

Topaz - She was put up because she targeted Andrew during the Instant Eviction and ended up getting his best friend in the house evicted.

Gary - Andrew tells him and the house guests that Gary was put up there because he voted for him. Instead Andrew to Canada that Gary is his actual target.

Best Quotes
(Here are some of the best quotes from last nights episode.)

3. Arisa - "This competition is about to get killer."

2. Gary - "My life is gourmet"

1. Emmet - "All of a sudden Gary runs of crying. Like we're in a grocery store and he can't have fruit loops."

Random Thoughts
(Here are some of the best quotes from last nights episode.)

- I have a theory that Big Brother put Topaz on the screen to show the other players out of vindictiveness because she has been so ready to break rules and has on more then one occasion said "F*** Big Brother." It is definitely a stretch to think the show would go to those lengths but you never know.

- Maybe Big Brother just didn't want Topaz sleeping for the entire week so they didn't want her to have her own room.

- I cannot figure out why Topaz went into so much detail while deliberating in the HoH room. Even at the end when asked why she chose those the nominees, she went into extreme detail about a backdoor plan. If she wasn't prompted to do that then I think she deserves to have her plans blow up in her face.

- Topaz had every right to be mad at Alec. He did what was best for him and that hurt her chances at winning the game. (Admittedly Big Brother ruined her game by showing everyone her HoH room process.)

- Andrew swaying he had to avenge AJ was hilarious and to find out that Gary was his actual target was actually surprising.

- Gary losing it and breaking down after being made a Have Not was pathetic and super entertaining. I laughed the whole time.

- With AJ being the first member of the Jury it would be surprising if they ended up bringing someone back and I haven't checked the finale date but if we still have a ways to go that could mean a non-elimination week. But I don't think that's likely.

Running Cast Grade: B+
(Last Episode: C+)
(Grading the cast on an episode to episode basis.)

After a series of boring episodes this one might have been the best of the season. We had a great new twist, one players game blew up in her face and another player completely melted down. I'm talking rolling on the ground, hyperventilating type of meltdown. Basically the house is filled with tension and awkwardness and that's exactly how I like it. I'm sure if they added booze it would have been that much better.
